Carmen Seantel
Award-Winning Voice Artist

Hi, I’m Carmen Seantel, a Black, queer audiobook narrator born and raised in the Pacific Northwest with over 90 titles under my belt.
Growing up as a homeschooled, transracial adoptee in a tiny town where I was literally one of two Black people within a 100-mile radius, books were my window into diverse worlds and experiences. I learned early on the magic of escape, connection, and transformation through story. I truly believe everyone deserves the safe space of getting lost in a narrative, and that belief is what drives me into the booth every single day.
My passion for storytelling started at age eight. While other kids played with dolls or video games, I was building a book collection that has since grown to over 700 titles, usually with Jim Dale’s Harry Potter playing in the background while I did my chores. By my teens, I was recording myself reading chapters from Redwall and Abarat, constantly experimenting with how many distinct voices I could conjure.
Today, that early sense of play has evolved into a dedicated passion for character development. Whether I’m voicing a gritty protagonist, a whimsical creature, or anything in between, I love stretching my vocal range to bring distinct, vibrant life to every character on the page.
I believe the most resonant voice work comes from lived experience. I bring an authentic, grounded perspective to stories exploring:
-
Mental Health & Advocacy: PTSD, childhood trauma, transracial adoption, and anxiety recovery.
-
Life & Leadership: Military culture, management, and parenting.
-
Passions & Culture: Animal training, horseback riding, and LGBTQIA+ narratives.
Whether performing a high-stakes thriller or a deeply emotional romance, I bring words off the page with the care, empathy, and humanness they deserve.
Awards:
SOVAS Nomination | Outstanding Audiobook Narration Sci Fi - 2026
Sultry Listeners Award, Favorite BIPOC Romance - 2025
